Surry is in a beautiful section of the Maine coast, with its shared borders of Blue Hill, Ellsworth, Orland and Penobscot. This small town offers a variety of businesses.  Orland is situated along the Penobscot River.  Its small-town charm offers wonderful trails for walkers and hikers established through The Great Pond Mountain Conservation Trust.  There’s Craig Pond and Alamoosook Lake for fishing, swimming and boating.  Bucksport, the next town over offers the surrounding communities entertainment at the Alamo Theater or history lessons at Fort Knox.  You’ll find year-round restaurants such as McLeod’s and Ming’s Garden.  During the summer months people enjoy both Crosby’s drive-in and Carrier’s take-out.
